Porsche® 911TM GT2 is The Most Powerful Porsche Ever Offered in North America
Based on the new-generation Porsche 911 Turbo, the 2002 911 GT2 is the most powerful Porsche ever offered in North America. Its engine, a modified version of the 3.6-liter twin-turbo six-cylinder "boxer" engine from the 911 Turbo, produces 456(SAE) horse power compared to 415(SAE) in the 911 Turbo.
The 911 GT2 uses rear-wheel drive instead of the 911 Turbo's all-wheel drive to reduce weight. The power increase and approximately 220-pound total weight reduction give the 911 GT2 even greater pedormance than the 911 Turbo. Porsche projects 0-60 mph acceleration in about four seconds and a top track speed of 196 mph (315 km/h). The Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCBTM) system, introduced as an option forthe 2001 911 Turbo, is standard on the 911 GT2.
