Does anyone need more than a Porsche? We think so. This is someone for whom a car is more than just a utility item. Someone who goes out on the weekends and does a few laps with great enthusiasm, which then appears in the back pages of various daily newspapers as "other sports." This person needs the new 911 Carrera RS.

The concept: Competition for mass-produced sports cars.

Number of units:

1,200 units worldwide.

Homologation:

(national) N/GT class for mass-produced sports activities such as the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring, endurance races, and Porsche Club racing activities.

Basic configuration:

a pure 2-seater with road approval. The 911 Carrera RS is a very lightweight vehicle with very high performance and only the bare essentials in terms of comfort. It is an extremely sporty 911 Carrera from which we have radically removed excess weight and unnecessary comfort elements.

Our goal:

everyday suitability, yes. But not at the expense of racing suitability.

1,200 cars? For whom, please?

For drivers who want to pursue their passion for racing without sacrificing their vehicle's everyday usability. For drivers who set their alarm on Sunday mornings to experience the sunrise on a lonely country road and still want to be home in time for breakfast. The new 911 Carrera RS is our offering for performance-oriented drivers.

Small production run, big driving experience.

The fact that a maximum of 1,200 will be built worldwide didn't stop us from paying attention to every detail. The displacement was increased from 3.6 to 3.8 l. The power is 221 kW (300 hp) at 6,500 rpm.

The gas exchange was accelerated by using a switchable resonance intake system with variable intake manifold lengths (Varioram). The torque is more responsive (355 Nm at 5,400 rpm).

The chassis is stiffer and sits lower: 30 mm at the front, 40 mm at the rear.

The front and rear axles have adjustable stabilizers.

The weight is 100 kg less than that of the 911 Carrera: 1,270 kg.

The tank has a standard capacity of 92 l. The steering is even more direct and precise. The achievable lateral acceleration is higher.

While maintaining the same drag as the 911 Carrera, the lift values were reduced. Aids: Front spoiler, new fixed rear spoiler, new side skirts, lowered suspension.

In the interior, every gram of unnecessary weight has been removed. Example: Seats: Bucket seats upholstered in leather, painted on the back. Example: Door trim: only one pull handle and one opening loop.

Electric windows, rear seat and belt systems, trim, sound insulation, central locking, headlight cleaning system, speakers, antenna amplifier, airbags, windshield wiper interval switch, instrument panel dimming, and headlight range adjustment. Except for the windshield, all windows are made of lightweight, thin glass. What you don't have to do without is the Clubsport package.
