PORSCHE. THE DEFINITIVE RACE-BRED SPORTS CARS
Ever since Porsche No. 1, Porsche cars have been sports cars: bred from the demands of road racing, built to elicit exceptional street performance.
Today, this singular, uncompromised vision of Porsche takes form in the first of a new generation of 911s.
INTRODUCING THE NEW 911 CARRERA
The result of countless engineering refinements both subtle and profound - to the legendary 911 concept, the new 911 Carrera Coupe and Carrera Cabriolet once again move Porsche a decisive step ahead. A step that transforms the act of driving into a totally new and exhilarating experience.
IT'S NAMED FOR AN ENDURANCE RACE
The Carrera Panamerica was a glorious, grueling road race first held in Mexico during the 1950s. Since then, Porsche has reserved the Carrera name for some of its most powerful sports cars. The new 911 Carrera is certainly a worthy successor. Its legendary air-cooled, horizontally opposed six-cylinder engine produces 272 horsepower.
THE TRANSFER OF POWER.
A new manual transmission featuring six speeds helps the 911 Carrera achieve a zero-to-sixty time of just 5.4 seconds. The new Carrera is also available with the Porsche Tiptronic, a revolutionary dual-mode transmission system that allows the convenience of an automatic, or the active participation of clutchless shifting.
A FIRMER GRIP, A QUIETER RIDE.
A new cast-aluminum suspension translates weight savings into improved handling, while an aluminum subframe uses rubber bushings to isolate the suspension from the body for a quieter ride.
A RESPONSIBLE SPORTS CAR.
The 911 Carrera's active safety features include ABS-5, the most advanced braking system of its kind. And as with every Porsche, the passive safety systems include standard dual airbags. Of course, within the new 911 Carrera you'll discover something else that's reassuring: the soul of a purebred sports car.
THE 968 COUPE AND 968 CABRIOLET.
From its front-engine, rear-transaxle layout to its VarioCam and Tiptronic engine and transmission technologies, the 1994 Porsche 968 bristles with innovative engineering aimed at one thing: creating what is perhaps the most driveable sports car in the world.
THE PORSCHE 928 GTS
Fast and luxurious, the GTS is the most refined example to date of the 928, a series of V-8 powered Porsche sports cars built to be driven in the grand touring tradition.
No matter which series you choose 911, 968 or 928 there is only one way to truly experience what a Porsche is all about. And that, quite simply, is to drive it.
