FIAT 125 Years in Prague

Celebrating the italian style

In the court of Trojský Zámek, a castle on the outskirts of Prague, next to the renowned Zoo, some 300 vehicles were on display. An overview of the FIAT brand's history, spanning from pre-World War I to the present, was provided by the event.

Other Italian brands (Alfa Romeo, Ferrari, Lancia, etc.) that are currently part of the FIAT (Stellantis) portfolio were also visible to visitors. Our Czech friends continue to have a great appreciation for the Italian way of life. The large number of guests were welcomed not only with ice cream and street food with an Italian flair, but also with the ubiquitous sound of well-known "nazional-popolari" hits, including "Ricchi e Poveri," "Albano & Romina," and, of course, "Toto Cutugno."

Curiousity: on display was a stunning tangerine 1972 Alfa Romeo GTV Bertone that was once owned by the late pop music icon Karel Gott to be auctioned off.

Given that many of the automobiles represented aspects of our earliest driving experiences, it was an extremely emotional affair. Our fleet consisted primarily of our parents' abandoned cars, the FIAT 124 (berlina and sport), 127, 128, Ritmo and more. These were the only vehicles we could use during our adolescent years.

A beautiful, leisurely Sunday afternoon in October with lots of sunshine.

P.S. The event was organized by Fiat Car Classic together with Fiat Club Prague, FCA CR and Autocentrum Dojáček.
