Bugatti 35
1925
One of the most famous racing cars, a Bugatti 35 with an unblown 2-litre eight-cylinder engine, had its debut at the French Grand Prix on 3 August 1924. Thanks to their friendship with Ettore Bugatti, the very first sold car of this model went just a month later to the Juneks. First Čeněk drove it, then Eliška. They often bought new Bugatti cars but kept their first Type 35 as a training and replacement car until the fateful summer 1928. In subsequent years, Type 35 became the foundation for other eight-cylinder racing Bugatti cars, namely 35T, 35B, 35C, 39 and 51, which moreover differed from Type 35 in their engine displacement and even- tual use of supercharger.
Aside from these, Type 35 also formed the starting point for the development of four-cylinder 1.5-litre Bugatti 37 and 37A. All in all, seventeen of these cars were imported to Czecho- slovakia in 1924-1934, ten of which were eight-cylinder and seven four-cylinder models. Racing car with water-cooled four-stroke eight-cylinder OHC engine located lengthwise behind the front axle and with a rear-wheel drive. Engine displacement 1991 cc, output 66.2 kW (90 hp), maximum speed 175 km/h. Producer: Ettore Bugatti, Molsheim, France. This car was loaned by JUDR. Ing. Ladislav Samohýl.
