Porsche Press kit 1979 - Germany
In its fourth model year, the successful Porsche 924 is technically unchanged. The model constancy valued by Porsche buyers, which, in addition to the six-year long-term guarantee, has a considerable effect on the price of used cars, is of course no accident. Like all Porsches, the 924 was developed with a view to the future for a long production period.
The 2-liter, 4-cylinder engine of the 924, which has a top speed of over 200 km / h, develops 125 hp at 5800 rpm. In the transaxle system, it is connected to the gearbox and differential on the rear axle via a central, rigid tube. As a result, Porsche has achieved a practically balanced weight distribution and optimum driving behavior.
The only changes to model year 1979, in accordance with customer requirements, relate to new colors, fabric-clad door insides and the now standard equipment with light alloy rims.
