1000 mil Československých (1000 miles of Czechoslovakia)
1600 km of straight driving in the First Republic
The Czechoslovak 1000 Mile automobile race, was organised by Autoclub of the Czechoslovak Republic in 1933, 1934, and 1935, on inspiration of the Italian "Mille Miglia".
All three years of this event enjoyed extraordinary interest of the public. Its route wes lined with hundreds of thousands of people; betting offices accepted bets on winners and in a raffle, one could win a car or weekend cottage. Domestic press paid a lot of attention to the competition and since 1934, its progress was alse broadcast live from the Autoclub building by nationwide radio. The Czechoslovak 1000 Mile was thus not only a remarkable sporting event of its time but also an important social occasion.
2022
The commorative edition 2022 was held in a very hot weekend of June.
2024
This edition saw, as usual, the concentration of all the participants cars in front of the Autoklub České republiky, near Prague's main train station.
The cars were mainly of czechoslovakian production, as expected. Aero, Jawa, Škoda, Tatra ... but also international production such as Auto Union, DKW, Bugatti and others.
For the occasion, the Autoklub Čr has opened their elegant premises to the (selected) public and we had the chance to shoot dramatic pictures from the big terrace.
